Our Story
Founded in 2022 by Blake Roscoe, Petit Austin arose from a blend of experience, education, and a strong desire to enrich childcare options in the Austin area. As both a mother and postpartum doula, Blake identified a significant gap in accessible, qualified caregivers to support growing families. This realization spurred the creation of Petit, a nanny and newborn care agency dedicated to offering comprehensive support tailored to the evolving needs of each family. Blake's clients often expressed the common sentiment "I wish we could clone you and keep you as our nanny!" This encouragement prompted Blake to assist her postpartum doula clients in finding nannies, drawing on her extensive personal and professional childcare experience. Quickly discovering her knack for the industry, Blake found nothing more rewarding than witnessing new mothers breathe a sigh of relief upon hiring a caregiver they felt confident and comfortable with in every way. At Petit, we understand that modern parenting demands flexibility and personalized care. Whether it's immediate newborn assistance from the first night home from the hospital with a newborn to managing households with teenage children, we are dedicated to accompanying parents every step of the way. Our mission is rooted in placing education and training at the forefront, ensuring that every nanny we place is equipped not only with experience but also with the skills to meet the unique demands of each family. Beyond simply providing childcare services, Petit Austin strives to cultivate lasting relationships and offer long-term support. Meet Our Founder & CEO
Blake Roscoe
Blake Roscoe is an Austin transplant, originally from the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. She is a devoted wife and mother of three through birth and adoption. Blake and her family enjoy spending time together in nature, swimming, hiking, spending time with friends and visiting family in New England. On most days, you can find her alongside one to three of her little ones at a playground, park, or their local library. She started Petit Austin in 2022, and has been incredibly fortunate to watch her passion for family-care grow into a flourishing business. With over a decade of experience, Blake possesses a deep-seated passion for serving growing families. She has had the immense privilege of watching many of the little ones she once cared for go on to become amazing creators and contributors to the world around them. As a nanny and doula, Blake worked within the world of adoption and surrogacy, with multiples, preemies, and NICU graduates, the dynamics of two-under-two and three-under-three, as well as medically complex kiddos and hyperemesis gravidarum pregnancies. Armed with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree, and fluency in Spanish, she has had the opportunity to serve her community through her work in local non-profits and volunteer efforts as a social worker. As the founder and director of Petit Austin, Blake delights in bringing peace to your parenting experience, collaborating closely with parents to troubleshoot challenges and providing invaluable care for all of the families she works with. She continues to work as a postpartum doula when her schedule allows, oversees all caregiver placements, and consults with families on anything from pregnancy to potty training. Blake firmly believes in the transformative power of support and stands by the adage that you cannot pour from an empty cup!
